Her favorite parts of design are illustration and breathing life into her work through motion design and animation. She also enjoys product design and creating visual systems and identities. When away from the digital world, you can find Jessica behind the lens of her black and white film camera, playing the ukulele, or baking some sweet treats for her family and friends. She is a self-starter and has taught herself most of her skills in her personal time through practice.

A Slice of Cuba is a culture spotlight in the series A Global Slice. In this series, we visit Cuba and a look into the Cuban and Cuban American kitchen. Readers can immerse themselves in a new culture or solidify already familiar household scenes. Some “Spanglish” may also be included to help young readers learn family sayings and feel more connected with their own culture

EASY FOODIE

Easy Foodie is an app developed to get millennials back into the kitchen. Research shows that millennials do not have much confidence in the kitchen compared to past generations since ready-to-eat food is widely available. Easy Foodie aims to create a community as well as help millennials feel more comfortable cooking meals at home.

SOL KOMBUCHA

Sol Kombucha is a kombucha brand I created based in Miami, FL and their mission is to create a kombucha integrated with some Latin flavors to highlight the diversity in the city. I focused on fusion of tropical fruits as well as iconic illustration for easily identifiable packaging where each flavor has its own design.
