HEY THERE! MY NAME IS

TOMMY VU

Tommy Vu is a Vietnamese American who first aspired to become a graphic designer from his love of the craft, form, principles, and work style of the field. Yet, he truly grew a passion for the field once his work assisted in having voices be represented and empowered. He wishes to specialize in branding in the future and thus his work revolves around building visual identities. In the past year he became an alumni of the Multicultural Advertising Internship Program where he took dozens of workshops from advertising agencies, and he later worked for the Bob Graham Center at the University of Florida for a semester as a graphic design intern. Now as a soon-to-be graduate he hopes to continue his growth as a designer through working closely with a mentor from an agency in the future.

I TELL A FLY

A rebrand of English artist Benjamin Clementine's album I Tell a Fly. The project implements the history and melancholy of the artist through the visuals and color scheme in the same manner the artist does for each song of the album.

The topographical lines represent an area of London where he was homeless at the age of 19. The solemn blues attempt to showcase the cheerful skies yet looming gloom of clouds and rain typically associated with London and visualizes the hopelessness Clementine faced yet managed to find his path in.

ANDY

The project re-envisions the cover for the album Andy by Raleigh Ritchie. The album dives into the struggles of growing up and not being able find our way in life and trying to find a way to cope with the difficulties of life. The artist shares how he use to escape from the world and wishes he could be child again for a simpler life, but the songs eventually showcase how to utilize the same method to move forward to a brighter future. Thus, the work attempts to visualize the overarching message of the artist with a vibrant breath-taking sunrise that would give hope to both someone new and old to the world.

ACEU

Brandon Winn, ACEU, is a 25 year professional streamer for the gaming organization NRG. Since his beginning as a streamer in 2019 he has amassed 1.3 million followers on his Twitch.tv channel. Yet, even as he grew his influence and presence online he never sought out a cohesive brand for himself nor did his organization give him one. Thus, this project rebrands him by taking on his current simple and laid-back branding style and gives it life while staying simplistic. Before ACEU had no real logo and thus a major portion of this rebranding is creating an organic yet powerful logo that fits with his name. Lastly, the project brings life not only to his brand but his stream with simple but eye-catching animations.
